Hudson Toyota/Scion & Hudson Nissan Add to Support of Slain Jersey City Police Officer
Jersey City Dealership Joins Community Efforts
Jersey City, NJ, July 25, 2009: Hudson Toyota and Hudson Nissan announced today it will make a donation to the family of Detective Marc DiNardo, the Jersey City officer recently slain in the line of duty. In a statement prepared by Hudson One General Manager Scott Rossi, the dealerships have committed a contribution from every vehicle sold in the month of August to be put into a foundation for the DiNardo family. This contribution should well exceed $7,000 and the employees of both Hudson Toyota and Hudson Nissan are deeply committed to helping the DiNardo family during this tragic time. The news of this effort has traveled to senior management at Penske Automotive Group, (PAG) which is headed by Chairman Roger Penske and the Executive Vice President for East Coast Operations, Bernie Wolfe who has offered to double the total amount of money raised by the dealerships. Wolfe cites “The people in Jersey City are a cornerstone of our company and our hearts go out to friends and family members of Officer DiNardo. Both Hudson Toyota and Hudson Nissan are top performing dealerships among their brands in the tri-state area.
“The entire Hudson family is saddened by the loss,” said Rossi, “and on behalf of the Penske Automotive Group, we are thankful for Officer DiNardo’s life and his dedication to our well-being.” Rossi added, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the other injured officers as well as their families – we promise our continued support of those who risk life everyday in keeping us safe.”
In an effort to help the family, Hudson Toyota offered the use of vehicles for transportation to the family during the funeral and Rossi as well as all Hudson employees are committed to aiding family and Jersey City law enforcement with anything in their power during this time.
